COVID:19: WHAT WE’RE DOING

Since the coronavirus outbreak began, we’ve been listening to the concerns of our Members and clients about the unprecedented challenges it’s throwing up; and, like you, we’ve been adjusting to new restrictions and guidelines which are changing the way we work and live. Please find some information about what we’re doing below. You will also find further information and resources here.

Remote Working

From 5 November 2020, our is working remotely; however, we are conducting business as usual, providing advice and support over the telephone and face to face. At times, we will have fewer people available to answer the phone, so please bear with us if it takes longer than usual to respond. If your query is non-urgent, please email us instead and we will come back to you as soon as we can.

Training Courses

We will continue to deliver face to face training courses and conduct face fit tests for as long as is safe to do so, based on advice and guidance from Government, Public Health England and WHO. Rest assured that we will reschedule and/or refund any courses for anyone who has notified us that they are self-isolating due to coronavirus. We will also reschedule and/or refund any courses which have been impacted through our training centre being unable to carry out training because of staff being affected by the virus.

SMSTS and SSSTS Refresher Courses

CITB have stated that any delegate whose SMSTS or SSSTS achievement expired since 15 March 2020 and who hasn’t been able to renew in time due to the coronavirus outbreak, will be allowed to take the refresher rather than the full course – this will remain in place until 31 January 2021 and will be reviewed on a regular basis.

Additionally, any delegate whose SSSTS or SMSTS qualification has expired since 1 October 2020 now has until 30 April 2021 to attend the appropriate refresher course.
